Setup and Loading FAQ
How much weight should be placed on the Squat Plate?
The required weight depends on your floor surface, the friction available, the pulling angle, and the load used during training. There is no single fixed amount that applies to every setup.
For high-force resisted work, add enough weight plates to keep the Squat Plate stable throughout the full exercise, including when stepping on and off the plate. As a reference, the 1080 Cable can generate approximately 150 kg of pulling force when used with a pulley between the machine and the Squat Plate, so the plate should be loaded accordingly for the specific use case.
How much load can be used with the Squat Plate?
The Squat Plate has been tested for loads up to 500 kg, including safety factors. This makes it suitable for demanding high-load resisted training setups when used correctly with any 1080 Motion system.
Always ensure the Squat Plate is properly loaded, positioned, and used on a suitable surface before performing high-force exercises.
What is the correct position between the Squat Plate and the 1080 system?
The Squat Plate is designed to support flexible setups, including use with 1080 systems mounted on a pole, positioned at different pulling angles, or used with freestanding configurations. It works with the 1080 Quantum, 1080 Cable, and 1080 Sprint systems.
Make sure the line is running freely throughout the full range of motion without rubbing against any surfaces.
